About me
I have been in education for 23 years. My journey began by teaching ESL in Fort Lupton, Colorado, where I spent my initial three years. I embarked on a new challenge by instructing 7th and 8th-grade Middle School English for another three years in Colorado.
My career then took an exciting turn as I assumed the role of an Instructional Coach in Fort Lupton, Colorado. During this time, I was able to be pivotal in launching the AVID program and ensuring ELA curriculum alignment from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Subsequently, I relocated to Kansas, where I taught English to students in grades 9 through 12. My teaching portfolio expanded to include College Composition, Communication, and Reading classes over six years in Inman. During this period, I earned recognition as an APPLE Distinguished Educator and received a nomination for the KTOY award.
My educational journey continued as I transitioned to McPherson High School, where I taught 9th and 10th-grade English for three years. I took on additional responsibilities as the Assistant Principal and CTE coordinator for two years.
I am honored to serve as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the McPherson School District. In this role, I have helped spearhead numerous innovative projects that have positively impacted the district. In addition, I am working toward my doctorate in Instructional Design and Performance Technology.
